Invest in Kids

A Chaska High School student re-stocks the shelves at the Hawk Haul.

The District 112 Foundation’s Invest in Kids program, a collaborative effort with the district, supports a wide variety of student educational needs and experiences not met elsewhere. The focus is on the direct benefit of the student. Donations are encouraged to help overcome personal barriers to student learning and success. These needs range from funding for basics such as food, eyeglasses, books, clothing, or for activities not sponsored by the district, such as certain field trips, musical instruments, and the like.

Cost can be a major limiting factor for students pursuing educational opportunities and activities inside and outside of the school walls. A lack of financial ability should never prevent a worthy student from participating in the same things as their peers.

Your support of the Invest in Kids program is truly an investment in the simple well-being of a child, contributing toward students’ achievement and success. Donate now and help make more opportunities for students available!

Invest in Kids grant money is to be used to meet the basic care needs to students in Eastern Carver County Schools. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the school year.

Who may apply?

Any staff person in Eastern Carver County schools may submit a request on behalf of a student enrolled in any Eastern Carver County school. Typically the needs are communicated to a point person in a building and then passed on to the Foundation.

What is the application procedure?

Interested applicants may request funding by submitting the Invest in Kids grant submission form. The request will be reviewed by the Grants Committee and Treasurer of the District 112 Foundation.

What requests will be considered?

Needs of basic care (food, clothing, safety, etc.) as well as needs essential to learning (materials, internet access, etc.) may be considered for funding.

What funding amount may be requested?

Each request will be reviewed to determine the extent of the need. Submitted requests are typically less than $100.

When are funds allocated?

The request will be reviewed by the Grants Committee and Treasurer of the District 112 Foundation within two weeks of being received. Upon review, if the grant is awarded, a check will be issued directly to the school so they may assist the student with the expenditure on the stated need.
