Directed accounts – another way to serve students

One way the District 112 Foundation serves Eastern Carver County students is by partnering with organized, staff-led district groups that support our students and schools. Referred to as directed accounts, each of these are lead by district staff and go beyond direct curricular support, primarily to address student basic needs or to provide scholarship opportunities for higher education.

The foundation has a “memorandum of understanding” with each of these directed accounts that establishes how donors will be engaged and thanked, how resources will be distributed and ensures charitable intent consistent with the District 112 Foundation’s mission.

In addition to serving as a fiscal agent for these directed accounts, the foundation works with the district to secure external support to meet these needs with the understanding that if their basic human needs are not met, a student’s ability to learn is negatively impacted.
