While the District 112 Foundation seeks to partner with Eastern Carver County Schools for a shared vision of academic excellence, it is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with its own Board of Directors and does not receive funding from Eastern Carver County Schools. We do, however, work in close partnership with Eastern Carver County Schools to promote excellence and innovation in our school system. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship for both parties.

The Foundation provides supplemental funds for innovative educational ideas which otherwise may not be supported. Funds raised for the foundation augment the school district revenues provided by taxpayers, state aid, and other public funding sources. Additionally, the Foundation generates community involvement and champions the many accomplishments of Eastern Carver County schools and its students.

Contributions made to a PTA/PTO stay at that specific school and can be used to fund a wider variety of programming, supplies and services. Contributions to the District 112 Foundation support all Eastern Carver County schools and are solely for curricular-related programs and materials.

The Foundation solicits donations from individuals and local businesses. Fundraising events also provide support for the Foundation. Other sources of fundraising are always under consideration, such as seeking grants from larger foundations or businesses that support education.

In addition to educating our children, a strong education system is vital to the economic health of our economy, the robustness of our local government, and quality of life in our community for generations to come. Eastern Carver County schools have a national reputation for educational excellence and innovation, and supporting the Foundation fuels increased achievement. Our students and community members reap those benefits many times over.

The District 112 Foundation does not propose specific programs or initiatives for any of the district’s schools or teachers. Instead, the Foundation makes funding available to support innovative and creative ideas that educators develop or discover and wish to implement in their classrooms.

The District 112 Foundation is a community oriented organization. As such, we are often looking for help with various fundraising events or from persons with particular skills to help with committee projects. Please e-mail us at info@district112foundation.org if you wish to offer your talents and skills to the Foundation.

District residents, Eastern Carver County Schools alumni, and the parents of current or past students are eligible to be on the Board of Directors of The District 112 Foundation.
